How we work
We are a product company with a compliance-shaped conscience. That means we ship
deliberately: changes to the permission model or the audit trail go through review by
someone who was not in the room when it was designed, and we would rather be a fortnight
late than quietly wrong about who can see a document.
Most of the team works from Tallinn two or three days a week; about a third are fully
remote across the EU. We do not run a follow-the-sun on-call, and we do not expect
evening work — the security on-call rota is compensated and deliberately shallow.
We write things down. Decisions live in short documents rather than in meetings, and
our internal documentation is the same documentation we hand to auditors. It is a good
forcing function.
What we offer
- Competitive salary benchmarked twice yearly against EU market data, with bands
published internally.
- Share options for every permanent employee, with a ten-year exercise window.
- Thirty days of annual leave plus Estonian public holidays, or your local
equivalent.
- A learning budget of €2,000 a year, and conference travel when you are speaking or
genuinely learning.
- Private health cover, a home office allowance, and hardware you choose.
- Two company-wide weeks in Tallinn each year, with travel and accommodation
covered.
Hiring process
An introductory call, a technical or craft conversation, a practical exercise done on
our time rather than yours over a weekend, and a final conversation with a founder. Four
steps, normally within three weeks. We give a decision either way, with reasons.
Equal opportunity
Vaultline hires on the basis of capability and fit for the role.
We do not discriminate on grounds of age, disability, gender identity or expression,
marital status, nationality, race, religion, sex or sexual orientation. If you need an
adjustment at any point in the process, tell us and we will make it — it will not
count against you.
